I stayed at this lovely hotel for a christmas party, and it exceeded my expectations. The view from my waterfall-view room was amazing, and dinner reminded me of a special event with beautifully presented dishes. The overall ambiance was enchanting this winter.
service was inconsistent at times

It was in the remote location, had nice staff especially with the receptionist.

The extremely helpful staff especially with the receptionist provided all the necessary info. The hotel was placed in the remote location in the beautiful woods or garden. Besides, it was near beautiful Lake Brienz, funicular and the spectacular restaurant, appropriately named "Les Cascades".

What they won't tell you about this
Staying here offers amazing waterfall views right from your room! The dining experience is enchanting, especially with live music enhancing the lovely ambiance.
Still, inconsistent service and outdated facilities can dampen the experience, affecting overall comfort.

I really enjoyed the hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Also, the Les Cascades restaurant was outstanding. We also enjoyed the breakfast.
The only negative aspect was that the shower in our room was very small, a little uncomfortable.

I stayed in a room with a view of the waterfall. Enjoying dinner was a highlight, with courses presented beautifully. The pianist during breakfast added to my experience. Thinking of road trips back to this place. I seemed like I was dining in a palace with the lovely ambiance.
The service at times felt slow. Some areas of the hotel seemed dimly lit.

Beautiful place, really worth it to go there even when it is difficult to find with gps. Very clean. The standard room nice but nothing special. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room and very exquisite. Worth the money. Dinner for 50 Swiss francs per person is not the best. Large selection of wines but Extremely expensive. Seas to drink of tea coffee and mineral water, juice free of charge on the third floor. In good weather, this is the place to go views are beautiful and unforgettable

Location, all lakeside and waterfall rooms are large and comfortable, food was good.
We have stayed at the Giessbach several times before in the lakeside and waterfall rooms, we thought that forest rooms would be large and comfortable as the others, how wrong we were, the room that was allocated to us was small, dark and depresssing, we were booked in for three nights, however we felt we could not stay in this particular room so we left after one night. Car parking is a nightmare, cars over the years have got bigger, the carpark has stayed the same size, they park 3 deep and ask you to leave keys with reception which I strongly disagree with, we did ask for a garage but they were all allocated. If you are careful and mindful of where you park your car in a supermarket carpark this hotel is not for you. When we arrived about 16.30, we found that there is no where for residents to sit in the sun without being pestered to buy food and drinks, the patio area seems to be used mainly by day trippers who are spending money, we did not require food at this hour because we had booked into the restuarant for the evening, this hotel needs an area for residents to be able to sit and enjoy the sun and views in comfort, we were very disappointed on this visit..

would come back for sure
The waterfall view room had a fine sight of cascading water. Amenities included a cozy seating area, tv, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Breakfast offered fresh pastries and an array of local options. The outdoor pool and sun loungers provided a great way to relax amidst nature.

The ambience is exceptional, the location historic and set amongst wonderful forests, amazing waterfalls situated by a beautiful lake and mountain scenery. The renovation of this site is truly enjoyable without being ostentatious. The half-pension dinners are reasonable and excellent. Buffet Breakfast is a feast for the eyes and palette. We extended our stay. Wifi in the lobby and main lounge made it enjoyable to catch up on business while on holiday. Courtesy shuttle bus into town is an added bonus. Complimentary tea and coffee services available all day.
I would have enjoyed a small fitness room for the rainy days.

The location of the hotel is unique. The fantastic waterfall and the breathtaking view. The setting of the bio-pool is beautiful and there is nice play ground. The kids have enough space to run around (without disturbing anyone). The mixture of the guests, in age and nationalities, is really nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved to see the cook picking some fresh herbs and vegetables from their own garden before returning to the kitchen! We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was excellent!
